Hyundai Sonata—TOMICA
Hyundai introduced its all-new 2011 Hyundai Sonata at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Sonata was the second vehicle, after the Tucson, to carry Hyundai's then-radical "Fluidic Sculpture" design language.
For the US market, the sixth generation Sonata boasted a direct-injection 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing a maximum of 200 PS at 6300 rpm and 25.5 kg⋅m at 4250 rpm.

Did you know the Hyundai Sonata is Tomica's first Korean car?
It was released as KR-01 within the KR series, and it was primarily released in Korea in 2012. It was sold in Japan for a limited period in June, 2013.
This car is considered to be a limited release Tomica, and the one that I own is for the Asia market, as you can see the Tomica is written in Japanese rather than Korean.

Mr. Andre Hudson, a Design manager from Hyundai Design North America, illustrates the sculptured re-designed 2011 Hyundai Sonata.
Beginning with the 2011 Sonata and 2010 Tucson projects, Mr. Andre set to work about three and half years ago on Fluidic Sculpture. Fluidic Sculpture is a consistent, cohesive design language that will ripple through the entire Hyundai showroom.
In developing the initial Hyundai Sonata sketches, Mr. Andre considered the interplay of natural, fluid elements with more rigid surfaces and structures to create the illusion of constant motion.
Inspired by nature, Fluidic Sculpture injects sophistication and dynamic angles into the shape of a vehicle and now serves as the core of Hyundai's future design identity. And here we take a closer look of the Sonata.
Height - 57.9 in. / 1471 mm /
Tomica ~230 mm (220 mm)
Length - 189.8 in. / 4821 mm
Tomica ~720 mm (720 mm)
Overall Width Without Mirrors - 72.2 in. / 1834 mm
Tomica ~280 mm (273mm)

For the suspension, Sonata uses MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension systems with increased travel for improved wheel control and a smoother ride.
All four wheels are controlled by coil springs, fade-resistant gas-charged dampers and stabilizer bars. And the rear suspension uses aluminum components to reduce weight and improve suspension performance.
Tomica also did a good job on the presentation of the chassis parts, and here are the details: (please click the pictures for details)
Wheelbase - 2,794 mm
Tomica - 430 mm (1:67 scale = 417 mm)
Front track - 1,598 mm / Tomica ~240 mm (1:67 scale = 239 mm)
Rear track - 1,598 mm / Tomica ~240 mm (1:67 scale = 239 mm)

Because I lives in Hong Kong, so I want to collect some car models that are also appears in Hong Kong.
However, I misunderstood that this generation of Sonata was launched in Hong Kong and bought this Tomica. It turned out that Hong Kong only introduced the previous generation Sonata; or the i40 that shared the platform with Sonata.
Although it is a car model other than the collection target, it is interesting to know how Tomica presents the details of the Sonata.
