Though it lacks force-feedback effects and adjustable steering tension, resulting in a much "looser" feel than you would encounter riding a real motorcycle, the FreeStyler Bike from Thrustmaster provides as close an experience to the real thing as you can presently get with a PC controller. And, that's saying quite a bit these days.

Looking very much like a set of motorcycle handlebars, it offers topnotch steering action and smooth movement whether racing in a Grand Prix or motocross event. Moreover, this device will also serve well in skimobile and water ski games due to the similarities between the vehicles used in these sports. Of course, all the features you would expect are on hand including two driving positions (desktop and lap), Grand Prix and motocross driving styles with realistic turning and leaning action, rubber-textured handles, four-way D-Pad, 11 ergonomic action buttons, one analog brake lever, one analog gas handle, one digital clutch or brake lever, and simple USB installation (no drivers needed, software that is).

Additionally, while the unit is almost entirely made of plastic, it seems to be constructed well and should be able to take a fair amount of wear and tear. It's only failings, as mentioned earlier, are the lack of feedback effects and a means of adjusting the steering tension. Overall, the FreeStyler Bike is a great controller, especially for those with an affinity for motorcycle games.
