iOpener & Simbin – New FIA GT Title Coming?



Back in June, iOpener Media and Simbin have joined forces to create a game called Real-Time Racing Game based on the innovative iOpener Enabled technology that will allow sim racers to race against real-life drivers using GPS technology.

Even though RTR’s beta test will start soon, little info has emerged already on what the upcoming Real-Time Racing Game will be about. This changes now as the title is now listed on Simbin’s website, containing some very interesting hints.

The text mentions powerful GT cars that players will be able to race. Furthermore, iOpener’s and Simbin’s twitter feed recently featured some interesting chatter about mysterious, sexy race cars. And to top it all off, RTR has recently been giving away tickets to the FIA GT racing event at Zolder.

Doing the math on all this and taking into account that Simbin does still hold the FIA GT license, are we seeing a new FIA GT simulation shaping up here? Sim racers have been asking for a new GTR for years now and the thought of having a modern GT racing game equipped with RTR’s technology is pretty mind-boggling. Who wouldn’t be excited to face the real FIA GT drivers in their stunning race cars?

Take all of this with a grain of salt though as I´m only speculating using the few facts we have. Still, this would be a very interesting prospect.
